Resurgence in the popularity of the 1960’s and 1970’s furniture...
The revisiting of Retro and Danish furniture...
For a few years now, we have seen a real resurgence of the popularity of 1960’s and 1970’s style furniture. Names like “Parker”, “Danish Deluxe”, “Fler” and “Chiswell”, to name a few, while once were the fashion furniture of the day, 40 to 50 years ago are now once again in the spotlight and very sought after items due to their design sense, simplicity, beauty and style.
Here at Edgeworks Upholstery, we have seen many “Ugly Ducklings“ of this era come into our workshop with their owners looking to re-invent these pieces with new Latex rubber cushioning and funky new fabrics applied, these relics of a bygone time leave our premises as the “Hip New Statement“ for anyone’s living room. They are extremely comfortable, incredibly stylish and suit all types of environments from small apartments to large houses. Because they are not too high at the back, they don’t tend to dominate the room if placed in a large open plan area.
Very, very versatile...
